September is the Month for Children’s Art Show at the Dog Show

Fliers and posters are out, encouraging competitors in our student art show.  Students are challenged to depict their favorite canine enjoying a fun activity with them.  We hope to have another stellar group of art to judge this year.  Last year exceeded 500 entries.

Volunteers are needed to take fliers to schools in your area.  Don’t let the students you know miss the opportunity to participate in the fun and see their art displayed at the fall show, possibly on a T-shirt or in the catalog.  It is a wonderful way to reach students and their parents and share our love of dogs.

JR. Handler Classes are Planned for October

Once again, a dedicated group of MCKC members will offer classes to assist Jr. Handlers in their quest to learn to show.  The members had as much fun as the Jrs. in practicing proper ring behavior.  Please inform any prospective Jrs. of this opportunity to learn the in’s and out’s of showing their dogs.  Your help is needed, either in instruction, bringing a dog for Jr’s to learn from or bringing refreshments.  Jrs receive a certificate, Jrs book and loving support.  Some of our Jrs have already been winning in the ring! Please let any board member know if you would like to join us on Wed. evenings.
