We Are Dedicated to Responsible Dog Ownership

Mid-Continent Kennel Club is a regular contributor to a variety of Tulsa area rescue organizations such as the SPCA, the Humane Society of Tulsa, and the Tulsa Animal Shelter. Proceeds from the silent auction today will go to the Search and Rescue dogs of the Tulsa Fire Department. Previously, the club has donated six korunda beds to the shelter as well as three digital cameras and money for a new heart monitor.   MCKC additionally contributes to OSU’s School of Veterinary Medicine, Take the Lead, Central States Junior Handler Scholarship Fund, and the Tulsa Dog Parks. This past year’s four day Tulsa Roundup Dog Shows held a Silent Auction with the Southern Handlers association to benefit the victims of the Joplin tornado. Numerous other area and national organizations benefit from the hard work and dedication of MCKC members.  MCKC also sponsors a Children’s Art Show at the Dog Show in an effort to bring better understanding to children of the responsibilities of owning a dog. Last year a beautiful, handmade quilt was  raffled to benefit the art show.   MCKC offers classes for children to learn how to show in AKC Junior Handler classes. Adult classes are also offered.  MCKC actively seeks to improve responsible dog ownership in the Tulsa area and seeks to recruit new members and assist them in their involvement in the exciting world of dog shows, obedience trials, rally, agility and many other events. This past year MCKC hosted the Responsible Dog Owner day for the state kennel clubs. It was a great success and we look for many more successes in the future!
